More macrophotography on my front porch
All images taken with a reversed Canon 50mm f1.8 lens. Recipe for the shots was the same: ISO 160, F5.6 (reversed), 1/250th of a second, flash fired at +2/3rd.
Bald Eagle Over Spencer Island
(click image to enlarge it)Went out to Spencer Island today with Cassandra and Bryson, we hid a new geocache there and also had a nice nature walk. This Eagle is part of a mated pair that are living near the island and flew overhead while we walked along. Cool!

Totem Poles at Burke Museum, WSU campus
Went to the Burke Museum today with the family. Really great museum, but they don't allow photography inside the place. So, I shot these images outside the museum. Right now is a great time to go, they have a fantastic exhibit showing called the "Cruisin the Fossil Freeway", it combines the science of fossil hunting with the art of painting. Really neat stuff! O.K., I've been trying to get away from doing cheesy photoshop stuff like this, but I saw a large poster at Ikea that was in a similar style, and I just had to give it a try.

Portland Panoramic
This is a shot I did several years ago, I never put it out because I personally didn't feel that it was that good, but in light of the recent panoramic shot of Seattle, I figured I'd throw this out as well. There are many things wrong with this image. I was using a fairly cheap lens and there is all sorts of weird artifacts throughout the image that I cloned out, part of the panoramic shot is actually slightly out of focus.....ugh! But it still retains a beauty to it and it may have some interest to the viewer, so I'm throwing this out there. Hope you enjoy it!Still Life - Golden Pear

Mukilteo Lighthouse in HDR
Using HDR to create this image of the lighthouse yielded unexpectedly cool results! I even went ahead and bumped up the color saturation to give it an almost 'cartoony' feel to it. I like it!
Skies over Puget Sound
Canon EOS 50D, Canon 70-200mm F4L zoom lens @ 91mm. F1/16 @ 1/50th of a second. ISO 500. Shot in "Aperture Priority" mode. Used in camera monochrome mode with a Cokin T2 Gradual density filter. 6:38 p.m.Marquam Bridge
Going through my old images and I found an image of the Marquam Bridge from February of 2006. Rather nice! It also makes me homesick.Inn at Port Gardner
A High Dynamic Range shot of the Inn at Port Gardner. I'm not happy with the composition of the image, but its quite colorful and a fairly nice shot. I did learn a lesson here though. Always, always be sure your camera bag is zipped up before picking it up! I nearly lost a Canon "L" series zoom over the pier! Fortunately I am imbued with cat-like reflexes and was able to intercept the errant lens.
1957 meets 2009 Hydroplane Racers of Yesterday and Today
In this image is a reconstruction of U-77 "Miss Wahoo" and unlimited class hydroboat that was originally built in 1957. Next to this boat is the 2009 Boeing hydroboat (U-787) that is also an unlimited class boat that runs on biofuel. It was really neat to see these two boats running together at Seafair!2009 Seafair Images continued.....Boeing Hydroboat
This boat, sponsored by Boeing, runs on a new type of biofuel that they've been experimenting with as a jet fuel. It ran quite well!
